When I first filed to open my campaign to run for Los Angeles County Supervisor in the 4th District in January 2023, I made a call to the incumbent letting her know of my intentions. It seems her next several calls were to every elected official in the 4th District locking up their endorsements. These are well-respected people - some are close friends and others had never heard of me. I understand the pressure they were under when a high-powered incumbent calls for their support.
This made me think of a good analogy. It's like you go into a restaurant and the only thing on the menu is a hamburger. So, you are hungry, and you choose the hamburger. Then, a week later, the restaurant adds steak to the menu. You go back in and have two choices now, and you smartly choose the steak. We should always have choices, and we should always know all of our options before making big decisions like who to endorse for such an important office.
I challenged everyone to learn about me and my approach to representing people and solving problems then learn all about my opponents before you made an endorsement. Then, I asked you to have the courage to endorse me for Los Angeles County Supervisor regardless of real or perceived repercussions. The patriots listed below had the courage to support me, and I am humbled.
